Berri, one of his waitresses interpreted for Soner, saying ‘the mum died in her sleep’, while his father, who was awake when it hit had ‘half of his body was covered in the ceiling’.
The rescuers on the front line have done amazing work, and the response from the citizens has been amazing, including Soner’s uncle, who ‘was the hero going in to rescue the father’.
‘We don’t know if he’s going to make it or not’.

Soner’s family are far from the only people impacted, with many still missing or trapped under the rubble.
Berri has asked for people to do what they can to help even from home, ‘donate a pound donate a fiver anything we can do to make some money’.
‘it’s very cold out there and there’s people out there with no place to warm up’.
She went on to urge donations of any food or clothing, ‘there’s two places in Norwich where people can take their food or blankets or anything’.
‘There’s quite a lot of stuff there already, so kind of the Norwich people’.
